Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod

I bought the Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod out of necessity from . I was trying to take very detailed images of small parts from an overhead position and I was struggling. Then I stumbled across the 055XPROB which can go vertical to horizontal in seconds. With the right tripod head (in my case the Manfrotto 3437 3D) your options are unlimited. When shooting pictures on my coffee table with the D90 facing down I simply place a bubble level on the cameras LCD and adjust the head or tripod legs accordingly. Manfrotto 3437 3D Magnesium Head with Quick Release

Before I get into this tripod head I must point out that the Manfrotto 3437 3D head has been replaced by the Manfrotto 460MG. For the life of me I cant seem to track down what the difference is other than removing “Bogen” from the name. If anyone knows of a difference please let me know. The Manfrotto 3437 3D is still available here for a few dollars cheaper than the 460MG. I purchased the Manfrotto 3437 3D to utilize with my awesome Manfrotto 055XPROB Pro Tripod Legs.
