A zoom in this range from Nikon is simply not affordable to casual photographers like myself.Â The $1000 price tag of this Tamron is much easier to justify. Having had wonderful results with the super inexpensive Tamron SP 70-300MM F/4-5.6 Di VC USD did not give me much concern for quality. Nikon has announced the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens #2199 and its available to pre-order from Amazon.com and Adorama. I don’t need to rehash what Nikons press release thoroughly covers. I saw a slide of images taken with this lens that were stunning. The best thing about this lens besides the image ability is its cost of about $219.
