Mother Nature Printing Postcards Today

Today was my first day out with the Nikon 105mm f/2.0D AF DC-Nikkor Lens mounted to my Nikon D800 and as you can see mother nature was quite agreeable to having her picture taken. The sharpness from this lens wide open at f/2.0 exceeds any lens I have experienced to date. The pumpkin picture above was taken at about 15 feet and cropped from a much larger image. The camera was held in a tripod and remotely fired. So far I’m pretty impressed but the real test will come with human subjects.

Nikon AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR 85mm f/3.5G ED VR Lens #2190 Here’s three pictures of bees. These are the first images I took after installing the 85mm Nikon Micro Lens on my D90. Here’s the neat part. These bees were about the size of a housefly. The pictures were taken at a distance of about 4 feet on a bright May Saturday morning around 11:00am
