Nikon D7000 – The Wait Is Over

My four month wait is finally over. Last week UPS dropped of a brand spanking new Nikon D7000. While the D7000 is actually destined to be a gift for the little woman on her birthday we all know what’s hers is mine. It will be interesting to see how the D7000 stacks up against my Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 60D. Will the Nikon D7000 live up to it’s specifications and hype in the hands of an amateur? I will know shortly.Stay tuned. Drew

Crumpler The Industry Disgrace – Camera Neck Strap

It isn’t often something so simple as a camera neck strap can be re-invented but that’s exactly what Crumpler did with the “CRUMPLER INDUSTRY DISGRACE”. Rather than make a strap that fights, aggravates and chafes your neck Crumpler decided to develop a camera neck strap that comfortably fit and was contoured to fit your neck properly at the angle of  a camara hanging of your neck. This approach eliminates the soreness created from unequal pressure. The design of the Crumpler The Industry Disgrace allows you to forget you are wearing anything around your neck. Another feature of the Crumpler The Industry Disgrace is a wide pad that distributes the load on much more of your neck than any other strap Continue ReadingCrumpler The Industry Disgrace – Camera Neck Strap

Nikon Addressing Bright Spots (Hot Spots) In Movie Mode with New Firmware

From Nikon Support Why are there spots in the video I shoot with the D7000? We have received reports from some users of the Nikon D7000 digital SLR camera regarding the occurrence of noticeable bright spots with movie recording under certain conditions. Nikon believes that these bright spots are not normally noticeable, and therefore do not indicate a problem with practical use. However, with further investigation of the reports received, we have confirmed that bright spots may be noticeable when recording movies of especially dark scenes or subjects. In order to provide our customers with better products, Nikon is currently preparing to release a firmware upgrade with measures to reduce the occurrence of these bright spots for the D7000. Nikon MB-D80 Multi Power Camera Battery Grip became a necessity once I began using the Eye-Fi Pro X2 wifi enabled SDHC card. The Nikon MB-D80 Multi Power Camera Battery Grip enables the Nikon D90 to operate with one or two EN-EL3e batteries. When one battery has completely discharged the camera will automatically switch to the fresh battery. Note: Be sure to go into the camera’s menu system and tell the camera that you are using the MB-D80 and what type of batteries you are using. Increased battery capacity is not the only feature of the Nikon MB-D80 Multi Power Camera Battery Grip. The MB-D80 Multi-Power Battery Pack provides an AF-on button, vertical firing release with lock, and front and rear Continue ReadingNIKON MB-D80 MULTI POWER CAMERA BATTERY GRIP
