Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Autofocus Lens Preview Mfr# 2042B002

When I purchased my CANON EOS 60D I bought a CANON 50mm f1.8 lens to go with it. The performance from that lens is just amazing but what’s even more amazing is the price which is in the $100 range. The lens has suited my needs perfectly until recently. Since the first of the year my website work has included subjects that require a shorter focal length for wide angle shots. As an example I was taking pictures of some fishing rods and I had to move the tripod into the bathroom to get enough distance to get the rod completely in the lens. So after a bit of research I decided to try another inexpensive Canon lens. This Continue ReadingCanon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Autofocus Lens Preview Mfr# 2042B002

March 24 CANON released the latest BIOS UPDATE for the CANON 60D. You can download it by clicking here. Firmware Version 1.0.9 incorporates the following fixes and changes. 1. Nikon D7000 – The Wait Is Over

My four month wait is finally over. Last week UPS dropped of a brand spanking new Nikon D7000. While the D7000 is actually destined to be a gift for the little woman on her birthday we all know what’s hers is mine. It will be interesting to see how the D7000 stacks up against my Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 60D. Will the Nikon D7000 live up to it’s specifications and hype in the hands of an amateur? I will know shortly.Stay tuned. Drew

Canon EOS 60D Digital Field Guide

Canon EOS 60D Digital Field Guide When I initially bought the Canon EOS 60D there wasn’t a single book or DVD to be found on the subject. Well last week I was Christmas shopping for the little woman and I noticed that Amazon.com was offering the “Canon EOS 60D Digital Field Guide” for sale and it was in stock. I did not hesitate to add it to my cart for purchase. Thanks to Amazon Prime the book was in my hands two days later. I have now had the book in my hands for about five days and have not read it from cover to cover but I must say I am very pleased with the Canon EOS 60D Digital Continue ReadingCanon EOS 60D Digital Field Guide

Crumpler The Industry Disgrace – Camera Neck Strap

It isn’t often something so simple as a camera neck strap can be re-invented but that’s exactly what Crumpler did with the “CRUMPLER INDUSTRY DISGRACE”. Rather than make a strap that fights, aggravates and chafes your neck Crumpler decided to develop a camera neck strap that comfortably fit and was contoured to fit your neck properly at the angle of  a camara hanging of your neck. This approach eliminates the soreness created from unequal pressure. The design of the Crumpler The Industry Disgrace allows you to forget you are wearing anything around your neck. Another feature of the Crumpler The Industry Disgrace is a wide pad that distributes the load on much more of your neck than any other strap Continue ReadingCrumpler The Industry Disgrace – Camera Neck Strap
